You can now play the first game that Elon Musk launched in his teens in 1983 ....The genius and billionaire owner of Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter was a geek like all of us in the 1980s. So much so that we now find out that he programmed a video game as a teen.
Elon Musk is in the news every day of the week and never for good stuff. Since he bought Twitter, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX hasn't stopped making controversial decisions about this social network.
Musk's road to show business domination began at an early age. While attending the University of Pennsylvania, he and a friend opened a successful nightclub in their rented home. Musk later earned degrees in physics and economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
At the age of nine, Musk got his first computer, the Commodore VIC-20. A guide that teaches basic computer language is included. Musk learned it in three days and quickly created software.
When Musk was 12 years old (1983), he created the source code for a video game called Blastar. The objective in the game was to blow up as many space cargo ships as possible using the five ships available to you.
The player had to dodge "deadly hydrogen bombs" and "state ray machines". It was a game inspired, no doubt, by the classic Space Invaders, which came out in 1978.
The game code was published in an industry magazine called PC and Office Technology in 1984, and Ellen Musk received $500 for his efforts...but it never showed up. Not until 2015.
Bloomberg technology journalist Ashley Vance published a book about Elon Musk that included a picture of the code from that game. Thomas Lloret, a software engineer at Google, saw it and turned it into a game that anyone with an internet connection can now play.
